Creative Exchange

The next EMS Creative Exchange will take place from Monday 4th - Thursday 7th March 2019

Creative Exchange is a 4-day residency at Hospitalfield House in Arbroath, providing Scottish based chamber music ensembles* with the opportunity to create, plan, rehearse and research, whilst accessing central support from EMS. As well as excellent rehearsal spaces, participating ensembles will be provided with accommodation and meals.

The aims of Creative Exchange are:

• to provide creative space
• to encourage conversation and collaboration
• to support musicians and other creatives in their projects, ideas and development

*If you are planning to spend your time at Creative Exchange to create new work with a Scottish-based composer or artist from another art form, it is possible for them to also attend in a joint application. Please mark ‘composer/artist etc’ under ‘instrument’.

Participants may also be asked to give a short informal performance/workshop at Hospitalfield for the local community e.g. school children or care home residents, during their time on the Creative Exchange.

At this stage, we ask you to formally express your interest by answering a few questions which will help EMS to ascertain which ensembles will benefit most from participation. Simply download the application form from the right hand side bar and submit to info@enterprisemusicscotland.com

We also ask that you attach a summary of your work to date as an ensemble, this may take the form of a short bio or CV and links to audio/video.

The DEADLINE for applications is Monday 14th January 2019

"The residency was really perfect in every way. It was great to have time to work on my own projects, and great to get to know the other residents.”

"The residency was a brilliant experience. I feel so relaxed and inspired as a result of it."

“The Creative Exchange provided us with some valuable time away - time to create and reflect, away from the usual distractions of every day life. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to do some intensive work in a beautiful and peaceful location. And best of all, the chance to swap and discuss ideas with other musicians.”
